Overview

Study to evaluate the effect of the Terre de Joie educational kit on children's well-being and empathy at school

Detailed description

Multicenter, randomized study with 58 classes divided into two groups (class receiving Earth of Joy versus class having lessons as usual). Assessments were made before and after the intervention using self-questionnaires.

Primary outcome measures

  • Change in children's school well-being (BES-C scale) [Time frame: September 2025 and December 2025]
Secondary outcome measures (4)
  • Change in children's empathy (BES-C scale) [Time frame: September 2025 and December 2025]
  • Change in bullying behaviors [Time frame: September 2025 and December 2025]
  • Change in teachers' well-being [Time frame: September 2025 and December 2025]
  • Change in classroom climate and cohesion [Time frame: September 2025 and December 2025]

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion criteria

  • Volunteer teachers who have not yet experienced Earth of Joy in the classroom
  • Teachers of students in Grade 4. Mixed-grade classrooms are also eligible, including Grade 3/4 and Grade 4/5 combinations
  • Children aged between 7 and 11
  • Children able to read French

Exclusion criteria

  • Refusal of parents or child
