Overview
This retrospective cohort study aimed to evaluate long-term oncologic outcomes after ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Patients who underwent LDLT between January 2012 and December 2023 at a single tertiary center were included. Outcomes of interest included overall survival and recurrence patterns, with a focus on differences in time to recurrence between ABO-compatible and ABO-incompatible recipients.
Detailed description
This study included consecutive adult patients who underwent living donor liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma at the National Cancer Center, Korea. Patients were stratified according to ABO compatibility. The primary outcomes were overall survival and time to recurrence. Survival outcomes were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and risk factors for recurrence were analyzed using Cox proportional hazards regression models. The study aimed to assess whether ABO incompatibility affects long-term survival and recurrence patterns following LDLT.
Primary outcome measures
- Overall Survival, Recurrence-free Survival [Time frame: Up to 10 years after transplantation]
