Overview

The objective of the study is to determine the effects of fresh mango pulp consumption on satiety and metabolic parameters in overweight/obese adults.

Interventions

  • Other Low fat cookie
    to determine the effects of low fat cookie consumption on satiety and metabolic parameters in overweight/obese adults
  • Other Mango fruit
    to determine the effects of fresh mango pulp consumption on satiety and metabolic parameters in overweight/obese adults

Primary outcome measures

  • Change of satiety [Time frame: 0, 20, 40, 60, 90 and 120 minutes post snack consumption]
  • Change of glucose level [Time frame: 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes post snack consumption; baseline and week 12]
  • Change of insulin level [Time frame: 0 and 60 minutes post snack consumption, baseline and week 12]
Secondary outcome measures (1)
  • Change of microbiome [Time frame: Baseline, week 4 and week12]

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion criteria

  • 18-55 years old
  • BMI 27-40

Exclusion criteria

  • Smoker
  • Pregnant woman
  • Required dietary supplement use
  • Required medication of metabolic disorders
  • Allergy to mango or gluten
